Some residents at Peregrine House have been admitted with, or developed over time, some confusion and lapses of memory consistent with dementia.

Our staff are trained to handle this difficult condition with sensitivity and patience, managing their growing needs as the condition develops and helping them to live as fulfilling a life as possible.

In the case of a tendency towards disruptive behaviour by a resident, this approach has to be modified for their own protection and that of other residents and members of staff. In these circumstances, meetings are convened with the resident, doctors, nurses, social workers, home staff and, where possible, relatives of the resident, to agree the best way forward for the benefit of all concerned.
