Marvellous Meals
We all love our food at Peregrine House. Staff and residents alike enjoy the varied and well prepared dishes served by our chefs, with residents influencing the content of the menu at regular residents meetings.
Variety and choice
At every meal a choice of three dishes is available, ensuring there is always something for every taste, and the chefs cater for special diets to suit the dietary needs of individual residents.
Residents are encouraged to come to the dining room, but can dine in their private rooms if they prefer. We monitor how well the residents are eating and are careful to watch for any changes in appetite which may flag up health or wellbeing issues.
Lunch Club
There is a lunch club and occasionally Dinner Parties are held featuring an international theme such as French, Italian, Spanish and Indian cuisine with special dishes. The dining room is decorated with the chosen national theme and the staff often enter into the spirit with national costumes to match.

Quality fare
Our chefs have won much praise over the years for the standard and variety of their cuisine and we invest considerably higher funds on quality food purchase per capita than the industry average.
Standards and ratings
Naturally, Peregrine House continues to hold a consistent 5 Very Good rating from the annual Food Standards Agency inspections and has a Gold Award from North Yorkshire Council in their Healthier Choices certification scheme.
